Episode 253: WR Preview With Ben Fennell

Paul and Matt are joined by Ben Fennell (@BenFennell_NFL) of NFL Network and the Athletic to discuss the 2019 Wide Receiver class. The discussion starts with how this class really does offer a lot of variety in terms of the types of receivers that NFL teams may be looking for.

Next the discussion turns to some of the bigger receivers in the class. Ben gives his thoughts on Hakeem Butler, N'Keal Harry, DK Metcalf and Kelvin Harmon while Paul and Matt also share some thoughts on these players.

Next the discussion turns to some of the possession style receivers in AJ Brown and Riley Ridley. The discussion focuses on whether or not Brown can play outside as well as inside at the NFL level and are there concerns about Ridley because of his combine numbers and college stats.

In the next segment they discuss Deebo Samuel and Marquis Brown and how they offer the versatility to play a variety of roles and offer the ability to get vertical from inside and used in space.

In the last few segments of the show they discuss a lot of more receivers and how they have different skill sets that can be used in a speciality role or as a bigger part of the offense. Some of the name discussed include Parris Campbell, Terry McLaurin, Andy Isabella, Mecole Hardman, Hunter Renfrow, Penny Hart, Stanley Morgan Jr, Greg Dortch, Emanuel Hall, Miles Boykin, Antoine Wesley, JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Keesean Johnson.
