Episode 616: Matt Waldman

Paul is once again joined by special guest Matt Waldman (@MattWaldman) of the Rookie Scouting Portfolio to discuss the 2024 NFL Draft. Matt shares a lot of information about his process and how he scouts prospects. 

First, Paul and Matt discuss some of the quarterback prospects which includes a detailed discussion on Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix. 

Next they shift to the wide receiver class and discuss Keon Coleman and Ainias Smith. For Coleman they discuss what they both really like about his game and why the narratives around him may not be appropriate for his skill set. For Smith they discuss why they both like the player so much and what he can bring to an NFL team if given an opportunity. 

In the final segment, Paul and Matt discuss the 2024 running back class. Matt shares his thoughts on Tyrone Tracy Jr., Jonathan Brooks and Will Shipley.

Episode 612: Free Agent Frenzy & Its Impact on NFL Draft

Paul recaps all the major moves including the two moves late Thursday night and of NFL Free Agency so far and how it significantly impacts the 2024 NFL Draft. Paul starts by discussing the Chicago Bears trading for Keenan Allen and the ramifications it may have on multiple teams inside the top 10 of the NFL Draft. He then discusses the signing of Hollywood Brown by the Kansas City Chiefs and the impact of that move. He then goes through all of the other major Free Agent moves and discusses how it may have impacted the first round of the draft. 

Next, Paul goes through every significant quarterback, running, back, tight end and wide receiver signing and discusses the dynasty ramifications not only for the player but other players that are effected.

He then discusses what prospects from the OL he thinks will be taken in the first round of 2024 NFL Draft.

Episode 610: 2024 NFL Combine Day 3 Instant Reactions (QB, RB, WR)

Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Combine is in the books and Paul recaps it all. He goes through the three positional groupings and shares the testing numbers that really stood out and what prospects had really impressive performances in their athletic testing and or on the field drills. 

He starts out by first discussing the RB group. He talks about how he thinks four running backs have now set themselves apart from the rest and could be the first four running backs taken in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Next he discusses the quarterbacks on field drills. The quarterbacks mostly discussed include Michael Penix Jr., J.J McCarthy and Joe Milton.

Lastly, he discusses the wide receivers. He discusses Xavier Worthy breaking the all time record for the fastest 40 yard dash time ever and where his draft stock may be right now. He also discusses what other receivers may have locked themselves into round one of the NFL Draft after their performances this weekend. He discusses many of the receiver prospects as so many tested out great athletically and looked very good in the on field drills.
